ANCORA: CEREMONY REQUIREMENTS
The secluded garden space just outside the main Ancora building is perfect for waterfront ceremony settings. With beautiful river views and natural surroundings, you can take full advantage of this outdoor location when getting married at Ancora.
When it comes to ceremony furniture for this space, we think white, light timber, rattan or bamboo furniture works best to complement the lush green surrounds. For your Ancora ceremony, you may want to bring in a ceremony backdrop, ceremony chairs, signing table, and signing chairs. Although white bentwoods are used inside at Ancora, an alternative ceremony chair style can be a great point of difference - we love our Soho chairs, Wooden bench seats, Indie dining chairs and Oak cross backs for guest seating, and our natural or white Peacock chairs for signing.
Keeping the waterfront location in mind, consider a backdrop that will still allow the beautiful views of the river to filter through. For example, our white Soho wire backdrop, round Soho backdrop, Geo backdrop and ceremony arches. And if you’re planning on celebratory drinks in the garden immediately after your ceremony, you might also want to consider bringing in a service bar to ensure this runs seamlessly.
In terms of delivery and pickup, our team will need to collect your ceremony items once complete and return for a seperate collection in the evening following your reception. Please touch base with our team regarding your ceremony timings, and we can provide you with a more detailed quote for your delivery and pickups.

ANCORA: Cocktail Hour Requirements
Will your guests be spending an hour or two mingling before dinner? Or, maybe you’re planning a full-blown cocktail reception? If so, we recommend bringing in some cocktail furniture and decor options to help you set the scene, while also keeping your guests comfortable.
When choosing cocktail furniture for your Ancora wedding, we like to draw inspiration from the existing aesthetic of the space. With glass windows, plenty of natural light, timber flooring and white panelling, we think this venue is best suited to a modern luxe, tropical or coastal-inspired look.
For relaxed coastal cocktail styling, think about using natural textures and materials like timber, bamboo and rattan - we love our Bahamas and Dune collections, wooden dry bars, round timber dry bars and white bentwood stools. Or, for something more luxe and refined, materials like velvet, marble and wire work beautifully - our Velvet collection, Soho collection and Icelandic collection are all great picks for an elegant cocktail setting.
The balcony at Ancora overlooking the river is the perfect place to position dry bars and stools - we recommend 3 to 4 high bar settings with 3 stools at each. For the larger square-shaped undercover area, we’ve found that a lounge setting, photo backdrop, or armchairs and coffee table is an ideal way to utilise this space. You might also want to consider including an additional lounge setting inside the Ancora building as a break-out area closer to your dance floor.
These recommendations are based on cocktail furniture for a sit-down reception - so remember, if you’re planning a complete stand-up cocktail reception, you’ll need to increase the amount of furniture to accommodate your guests. We recommend cocktail seating for between 50-70% of your guests - you can read more of our tips for cocktail wedding furniture hire here.
And finally, don’t forget the smaller details like cushions, textiles and rugs to complete your lounge settings, and vases and candles for your dry bars and coffee tables. These are the finer details that will help to create a cohesuve “flow” throughout your different styled areas!

ancora: Reception Requirements
For a sit-down reception at Ancora, you’re able to use the existing tables and chairs at the venue. However, if you’re looking for an alternative chair style or point of difference, our white Soho chairs, gold Soho chairs, Indie chairs and Oak cross back chairs are all great options.
To complete your reception table styling, think about incorporating some beautiful textures and materials using crockery, cutlery and glassware. We love layering natural textures and earthy materials with a pop of colour to complement the Ancora interiors, like our rattan charger plates, blush linen napkins, navy linen napkins, crystal glassware and gold cutlery.
A feature backdrop behind your bridal table can also be a great way to frame your setting and provide some beautiful photos. And finally - don’t forget the bar! The built-in Ancora bar is such a great statement piece, so make it a real focal point with accessories like florals, foliage, candles, baskets, clam shells and lanterns to help you complete the look.
