For brides dreaming of a relaxed, organic and Tuscan-inspired setting, our latest style guide should be right up your alley. This week on the blog we’re exploring one of our favourite looks – Elegant Neutrals.

This look is perfect for a truly timeless wedding, with classic Italian influences and soft, romantic details. With earthy tones, beautiful floral styling and timber and gold accents, we think this look is ideal for clear marquee receptions, private estates or modern barn weddings.

Inspired by the launch of our brand new oak crossback chairs, keep reading for our top tips on bringing this look to life, as well as some gorgeous imagery to get you started!

ELEGANT NEUTRALS: COLOUR PALETTE

As the name suggests, this look is defined by its neutral colour palette. Be inspired by the hills of Tuscany and sweet Italian courtyards and keep your colour scheme light, fresh and natural!

When styling your wedding, we recommend sticking to a soft, earthy palette of light timbers, oatmeal, white, dove grey, and plenty of natural greenery. Darker tones such as charcoal and even a hint of black can also work well when used sparingly.

Gold and silver details are the perfect complement to this kind of palette, helping to create a more elegant aesthetic. If you did want to add some extra colour, opt for subtle tones like burgundy, navy, blush or amber.

ELEGANT NEUTRALS: FURNITURE AND DECOR

Timber really is the hero in this look, but it’s important to balance this with the rest of your styling. Light timber works best with this style as opposed to dark or heavy tones – our new oak crossback chairs paired with our wooden feasting tables are the perfect shade for an elegant neutral look.

Detailed tablescapes are another key element to keep in mind, so consider beautiful glass charger plates, crystal glassware or gold cutlery to add some luxury into your place settings. Stone, charcoal or black napkins are a great way to break up the timber and white tones, while also adding some depth into your table styling.

For cocktail receptions, we love our round wooden dry bars with white bentwood stools for a fresh and organic look.  Market umbrellas work perfectly for a garden wedding, along with a statement bar for drink service. ELEGANT NEUTRALS: FLORAL DESIGN

Wild, unstructured greenery paired with white florals is our favourite approach to floral design for an elegant neutral look. Keep your arrangements soft and organic, and don’t be afraid to include more foliage than blooms.

We also love the idea of incorporating some olive leaf, lemons or limes for an Italian-inspired look. Sprigs of olive leaf at each place setting or fresh fruit scattered down your tablescape are simple ideas that can add so much to your styling.

Oversized bunches of greenery and foliage or olive trees in woven baskets are perfect additions to your ceremony aisle or bar.  Hanging installations and foliage chandeliers can also make a beautiful statement for marquee or indoor weddings.

ELEGANT NEUTRALS: STYLING DETAILS

As always, it will be the finer details that help to tie your overall look together!

We love elegant handwritten calligraphy in grey, black or gold ink for stationery and signage, modern chandeliers for lighting, and simple cakes with foliage accents. Olive leaf can be used in place of a confetti toss, and olive oil favours can be a simple bonbonniere.
