Christine + Andrew’s Gold Coast Hinterland wedding was magical to say the least. Their relaxed and whimsical day was inspired by their love of travel and the places they loved to travel together, particularly Italy – we can see how such a beautiful wedding can be created when the bride and groom draw inspiration comes from one of the most romantic destinations in the world!

After speaking with Christine about her experience as a bride, her inspiration for the day and how she pulled her dream team together – it’s not surprising to hear her admit she wouldn’t change a thing about their day! Describe your wedding day: It was the most beautiful experience. It was more romantic and special than I could have ever imagined! To this day I cant believe how much I cried – as soon as I saw Andrew waiting for me at the bottom of the stoney stairs at the riverbank I couldn’t stop them flowing! It was emotional and magical and represented so much of who we are at every turn.
What were the highlights on the day: Seeing Andrew for the first time – that smile waiting for me next to the floral arch with cascading florals was priceless!! And being surrounded by such beauty in the decorated Katalane Tent and seeing this for the first time – after months and months of planning and organising, seeing it set up how we had envisioned was breathtaking!
Who was your celebrant and why did you choose them: Modern love ceremonies. It was important for us to have a celebrant who believes in marriage equality – there arent’ many who advertise this and Cara was open and cool with us adding bits of this to our ceremony!
What was the feel and style of your wedding: We chose to have an informal wedding so we could have the freedom to customize every aspect of our marriage ceremony and wedding reception. It had an intimate, relaxed feel and reflected us so well. SO many of our friends afterwards said it was the best wedding they have ever been to!!
Where was your wedding venue and why did you choose them: Riverwood Weddings – a private property on the Gold Coast Hinterland. We chose them as we wanted to be able to style and organise all of the elements of our day without restrictions.
Who was your caterer and why did you choose them: EatDrink because all of their food is local, organic and fresh! We also picked EatDrink because we loved the idea of feasting all night long and sharing delish food with guests to get everyone mingling – it worked so well!
Who was your photographer and why did you choose them: Byron Loves Fawn – Andrew wanted our wedding to be shot on film – so it was! The photos turned out so natural with the sun in the background and matched our theme so well.
Who was your wedding planner/stylist and why did you choose them: Little Gray Station – Judi & her team blew us away with their professionalism and support of our ideas. We went with them because we loved her luxe and individual style. Our day just would never have been the same without her!
Do you have any tips for other brides? To not worry about a thing going wrong – if it does, it’s part of the day and I promise it somehow does work out!To take a moment just with your husband and look around the room, take in the smells & the views, your guests laughing, dancing having a great time and remember this moment. The day goes by so fast that taking a mindful moment will be a memory you’ll have forever.
